From September 2023, we will use B Squared’s new Connecting Steps Analytics as our sole platform for the analysis of progress data. It will revolutionise assessment at the school and benefit staff workload, allowing for a greater focus on student learning.

Working with B Squared has helped us to consider the children’s needs and think about which areas we need to support each child to develop in. It has given us an ideal solution to show progress and to record work all in one place.

B Squared’s Connecting Steps has allowed us to celebrate successes on a micro level. This means we can still show progress for pupils who make slower improvements or for those going through a tough time. Experiencing small successes is so important for our pupils and our teachers.

B Squared’s assessment software makes tracking and monitoring data across school easy. It’s simple to use and has given staff a common language when it comes to assessment. Most importantly, we can now celebrate every step of progress a child makes, not just the larger blocks.

Connecting Steps has given our teaching staff the confidence to accurately track children’s data and use it to inform future planning. This has lead to a more accurate knowledge of our pupils’ strengths and difficulties, more precise teaching and better outcomes for children with SEND.

Working with B Squared, we have found an assessment system that we can intrinsically link into our ambitious curriculum – from Early Years through to Preparation for Adulthood. We can now see the sustained progress our pupils are making and share these successes with parents.
