What is New at B Squared May 2025?

Posted on 30/05/202510/07/2025 by Nicola Davies

Here’s a quick summary of what’s new this month. Please share your feedback on this update.

New SEMH Assessment Framework:
supporting mental health, behaviour, and attendance

The impact of Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs in schools is huge – and it’s growing every year! We’ve developed a brand new SEMH assessment framework to help identify and support students struggling with behaviour, attendance, and emotional wellbeing.

Covering birth to age 15, it gives you a clear profile of SEMH needs and can be used alongside your existing frameworks to identify a student’s specific strengths and needs, plan targeted support, and track meaningful steps of progress.

Currently being trialled by 100 schools, we’ll be working over the Summer to make any adjustments based on their feedback.
The framework is available to preorder now ready for the new school year.

Empowering success through individualised learning
“Progress can be quickly tracked and staff can target specific skills within lessons for each student. For example, within an English lesson where the class is learning to write letters, some students may also be working towards using capital letters for proper nouns, or basic punctuation. This enables appropriate differentiation across our school’s bespoke curriculum.”   Jonty Emmerson / Parkview Academy
